Another tough result as the rot continues. Our inability to score keeps costing us and team looks mentally exhausted.
Brentford efficient with their chances and weathered 2nd half storm as we pushed for win. League campaign looking very stale, home and away. #NUFC

Disagree. Ref had big influence on how Villa were able to control game and slow it down, enabling their game plan.
I criticised Newcastle in the first part of the post too, but ignore what you want. Two things can be true at once.
A tough defeat in the rain, but I didnβt like the tone we set 1st half. We gave Villa so much space, time and encouragement.
They deserved the win, but hugely benefited from the abysmal and spineless Jarred Gillett. Heβs just not good enough.
Better 2nd half, Miley and Botman our best. #NUFC
A class performance and win under the lights to book our place in the Knockouts.
We looked hungry, fluid and committed to the game-plan. Great opening for Wissa, Hall and Joelinton impressed, as did Elanga.
We reminded ourselves just how dominant and clinical we can be. #NUFC
Felt like a game too far after the 4-3 and penalty shootout. Thought we battled, but fatigue was evident, particularly in 2nd half.
Beaten by a better team and we had chances to hurt them, but lacked conviction. Big ask to overturn 2-0 in 2nd leg. #NUFC
Another bonkers game at St Jamesβ Park!
And just like Wednesday, we werenβt at our best, conceded 3, saw a Barnes brace and crucially never gave up.
Progression in the FA Cup lower priority atm, but so important to keep winning streak going ahead of a big League Cup Semi-Final.

A crazy, infuriating and euphoric game of football.
Plenty of chances, mistakes and goals, but a desire to fight to the end and win.
Abysmal showing by the officials, but a huge win that puts us 6th.
3 Premier League points the perfect birthday present for my dad too! #NUFC
A functional and frozen win against an underwhelming Palace.
We dominated both halves, but showed more clinical finishing in 2nd. Big performances from Miley, Big Joe & Thiaw.
Two goals from corners by Bruno and Thiaw saw the game off. Only 2 points off 5th now. π€π€ #NUFC
A feisty 2-2 draw after one of the best 1st half displays of 25/26.
We created plenty of chances but once again failed to see off opponents from a winning position.
Felt 11 v 12 in the 2nd half - bizarre officiating, plenty of penalty shouts turned away. Pleased for Big Nickβs brace. #NUFC
Big QF win to earn a 3rd League Cup SF in 4 seasons.
A goalscoring full debut for Wissa and another headed Miley goal just enough to nudge out Fulham who offered little threat.
A ponderous 1st half but more energy, impetus and invention after HT made it a deserved win. #NUFC
1st half couldnβt have gone better. 2-0 up and a man up at HT. 2nd half we got complacent and gave them late hope.
Incredible Bruno goal direct from a corner. Elangaβs pace forcing the red card, and another confident Gordon penalty.
Excitement for Wissaβs debut & appreciation for Dubravka. #NUFC
*Newcastle 2-1 Man City*
Massive 3 points against a team in form. We battled, showed desire and showed our qualities.
Excellent performances all around but back 4 were colossal in nullifying Haaland & co.
Big Barnes brace and plenty of shithousery, well earned win! π€π€

Tough result, but canβt fault the spirit of this team in the face of adversity: a selfishly absent striker and a diabolical refereeing performance.
Liverpool unspectacular and their aggression unpunished.
Injuries/suspension concerning, but some encouraging home debuts. #NUFC
Itβs good to be back. π€π€ #NUFC
25.08.2025 17:17 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Canβt complain with a league point at Villa Park.
Very strong, assertive first half had Villa rattled. But after Konsaβs red we were wasteful in the final third and made some poor decisions.
Missed a striker, but still lots of positives to take. Big Dan Burn superb today. #NUFC
A day of mixed emotions: not the result we wanted, but top 5 secured and thatβs all that matters!
A League Cup victory, 5th place in the Premier League and guaranteed Champions League football in 2025/26.
An incredible season and transformative summer ahead. HWTL! π€π€

After the Chelsea win I boldly/foolishly speculated that 1 more point would be enough to secure Champions League football.
Little did I know that ZERO points was actually enough. A crazy end to one of the best seasons in my lifetime.
Very excited about what comes nextβ¦
#NUFC
Beaten by a poorer side.
We were blunt in attack - expected from Wilson (to the point of being a hindrance) but more poor decision-making in final third by Barnes & Gordon.
Arsenal there for the taking and we didnβt do much wrong defensively. Sets up a huge final game. #NUFC
Have to applaud the song selection at full time: Chelsea Dagger and Parklife (written by a massive Chelsea fan). #NUFC
11.05.2025 13:52 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A gargantuan win in the sunshine, a dogged Newcastle get the better of 10-man Chelsea.
Cracking 1st half which set the tone (red card justified) but a nervy/leggy 2nd half challenged us.
Massive goals from Tonali and Bruno take us into 3rd with 2 games left. HWTL!! π€π€ #NUFC
A frustrating performance but a massive point in the race for Champions League football.
Teams below us 3 points behind and with inferior goal differences. Could do with results going our way next few weeks, but still in our hands if we beat Chelsea and Everton at home. #NUFC

Buzzing to have Eddie Howe back in the dugout. His presence is going to be vital for our final run-in.
Some interesting stats v Ipswich:
β’ 47 crosses into the box attempted
β’ 78% possession - a new Premier League high for 24/25
β’ 19 PL wins now, 2nd only to Liverpool
#NUFC
A comfortable win in the sunshine. Ipswich aggression difficult for us 1st half but they struggled with our crosses in the box. We did everything but score until Isakβs penalty.
A very controlled 2nd half & 2 good goals from crosses won it. Ref was v poor. Up to 3rd! π€π€

Statistically it was, we both went into break with a goal each and 2 shots on target each. Similar passing stats.
Shots off the frame of the goal are still off target too.
We built attacks well and got crosses in.
2nd half the teams couldnβt have looked more different.
A very disappointing 2nd half performance after an evenly balanced 1st.
Watkins kept exposing us, Villa have been good value for the win. Weβve looked leggy and shellshocked, couldnβt get a foothold.
A sobering reminder that CL football not yet secure, but we can rectify with win v Ipswich. #NUFC
