I honestly don’t know why they frame it as if these companies are reluctantly giving up DEI- these companies are disinvesting in DEI because they don’t think the courts or the political system will punish them for discrimination anymore. DEI existed for most as a lawsuit barrier.

And having high standards regarding personality is 100% reasonable.

The area where women's standards have increased the most is in regard to personality. One of the reasons for this is that women can actually afford to care more about personality, because women have more financial independence and power than they used to.

Which standards? If you're talking about money, that's much *less* of a factor now. Women used to be excluded from the formal economy in many ways (not allowed to have a bank account without permission, for ex.) so a man's income was much more important when selecting a partner than it is today.
