I was 15 years old when I began to realize that Germany's relationship with our Nazi past was - to put it mildly - deeply and dangerously flawed.
I have a lot of complicated feelings on post-war history and the way we compartmentalize the atrocities of Nazi Germany, so this essay *really* hit home

in my mind the city’s reputation has always owed everything to @variantedmonton.bsky.social, but i’ll be thinking now also of the river valley parks especially
