The Responsible Statecraft folks really like Trump's surrender plan for Ukraine and are really scared Europe might undermine it.

Many people in Europe are skeptical about Russia's intentions to attack Europe. They believe that Putin (Russia) will be satisfied with just Ukraine. That is why even some politicians and intellectuals voice the call to "give Ukraine to Putin" and thus "save Europe."
This outlook is wrong.
It's pretty widely known that Russia uses outlawed chemical weapons in Ukraine: why wouldn't they, as they commit so many other war crimes?
But proving it was difficult.
Now a report which does that

This should be a story.
It should be a scandal.
Musk should have to account for this, in person, in parliament
The core problem is this, he doesn’t practice principled anti-imperialism. He practices inversionism: if the U.S. supports something, he reflexively takes the opposite side, no matter how brutal that side is, no matter the evidence.

Very much so.
BOAN scratches a lot of itches.
It means they can credit everything to a single film rather than go into the weeds of early cinema.
It re-centers the USA as the film innovation capital.
It makes them feel smart that they can "see past" the racism (assuming they are dupes)
And that's assuming the best, that they were mere dupes and not that they quietly agreed with the film's message.
I am begging people: watch other movies made before and after BOAN. It's a lot less impressive in context (and if you find its message repulsive)
So my radical proposal, based on period protests against BOAN, is that we condemn harm to elephants AND humans.
(And there was very real harm. Racist violence followed in the wake of screenings. Klaverns popped up like mushrooms.)
