I watched Jabberwocky with some friends over the weekend. Haven’t seen it since I was a kid, and was quite surprise just how well it holds up. It’s not a Monty Python movie, but might as well be a Holy Grail sequel considering the setting, with Terry Gilliam directing and Michael Palin starring.

15 years ago today, Splatterhouse (2010) was unleashed on a mostly uncaring public. It even divided the fanbase a bit.

Regardless of that, it's gone down in history as a cult classic, and the aftermarket prices for it keep going up. Who here still has their copy?

Gauntlet for NES

I like the minor RPG elements, and that they added a final boss and ending. However, there’s no reason to use any other character other than Questor, and Thor is slow af. Also, the game hurts my eyes to look at.

A few years ago I saw a good documentary on YouTube about the development of 3DO DOOM. They shot all the FMV footage too

The SEGA Master System has the best 8-bit port of Gauntlet 1. It plays very close to the arcade, and has beautiful graphics. The only thing it lacks is a proper soundtrack during gameplay
