I have not played any of these games but Anno looks like the good times vibe I'd be looking for if I had the time to play.
I still haven't finished Expedition 33!!! ๐ญ

01.09.2025 18:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Haha I'm still thinking!
What's your monitor, dock, camera, mic, etc that you would expect at the couch?
Haha sometimes the best idea is the first idea? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
16.08.2025 21:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A PTZ would provide great video quality. However I'm not sure it is the simplest setup.
It might be easiest to just duplicate your desk setup at the couch?
With a mount arm like what's used in these videos?

16.08.2025 20:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This is such an interesting problem to solve. I love it.
If you go simple and add a monitor on a coffee table or a side table then you could get a PTZ camera that lets you zoom in when you're on the couch and just have a long XLR cable for your mic and bring it to you.
Is your mic USB or XLR?
Worst case scenario you run some long HDMI through the monitor arm and then figure out camera and mic stuff.
16.08.2025 02:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yes! The example in bed was to show the flexibility. Your room seems small enough where it might work out to let you swing it around from your desk to your couch.
Since you have a laptop I am sure there are monitor adapters to attach your laptop and a dock to your monitor so you only need power.
I think you're looking for a giant/long wall or ceiling mounted monitor arm.
Essentially letting your setup move with you. The hard part is cables to your computer. Are you working with a laptop or a desktop?

15.08.2025 16:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Haven't stepped foot in there for about 6+ months. Only recently made a pickup purchase for something specific I needed the same day.
In addition to cancelling Amazon around the same time I've almost exclusively shopped from the actual brands site/store and have likely saved money.
I have a few sayings that go along with this. "Kids and pets are accident prone. Choosing to have either means you choose to have things break" and "don't buy something you can't replace".
Obviously they are a bit black and white but are a decent baseline to understand that things break.
I'm testing out Basecamp for work. I used it in the past and really enjoyed it
I've been trying to use Jira and a 50 person org is just too small. Hoping I can get buy-in for Basecamp this time around.
I bought the dogs a bed.
The cats had another plan.

26.07.2025 13:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Old solutions are for oldheads that know what they're doing but have some of the worst UI/UX ever and all the new startups have no idea how things should work and just wing it leaving huge gaps in feature sets that seem pretty obvious.
And the craziest thing is ALL these solutions are expensive!
After spending the past year working with consultants and doing a bunch of tech demos for HRIS, ERPs, and other associated tools. I've come to the conclusion that this market is wide open for disruption.
So I guess I need to start trying to get into coding again. ๐ฎโ๐จ

23.07.2025 16:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I've done some napkin math. Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA have a total budget of roughly $2
5t.
It is estimated that single payer in the US would cost about $4t.
We're more than halfway there if those services are rolled into one allowing for better bargaining.
We can have nice things! ๐ฎโ๐จ
