i really think they should have called the process of making a model talk to itself something other than "thinking" but half the people building these things think they're alive

if you ask gemini 3 pro to do something in any "agentic" AI coding assistant, the general impression it gives is offputting. it "thinks" to itself and responds like someone who's hypomanic and if you tell it to plan or review something, it will often start building or editing it without permission

i guess they want people to be able to unlock the ~true power of AI agents~ (letting them work in the background unmonitored, running whatever malformed terminal commands they want to without having anything that catches mistakes and asks you if you want to let it do that)

copilot chat has that and even if you turn on YOLO mode it offers at least a partial safeguard to keep the thing from running Powershell or bash commands outside your workspace folder

combine that missing feature with Gemini 3 Pro being a freak of a model that goes off half-cocked and you get this
