There must be trials. Not as an emotive aspiration, rhetorical meme, or empty threat. A concrete plan. A dedicated special court for it. Structural legislation and prosecutors and funding and all the rest of it. Everything necessary for it can be done constitutionally. All it takes is the will.

We should try electing some kind of deliberative body that makes decisions about levying taxes.

A lot of people have asked what this opinion means: Are ICE tactics likely to change because of the court's holding in this case? So let's talk for a minute about what the court is doing.

Again, maybe the most depressing aspect of the past decade has been that it’s made it impossible to avoid recognizing that a terrifyingly large minority of our fellow citizens are just flat out evil.

Make it clear, as early as possible, to every DHS goon, that their friends, neighbors, family, members of their church congregations and future employers all are going to be able to just pop their name into a search box for the rest of their lives to see what they did during the Great DHS Pogrom.

Morning thought: assuming they win at least one house of Congress, I think Dems should use their oversight and subpoena power to pull DHS' personnel records and set up an open, public, searchable database of ICE and CPB agents, along with whoever is manning the detention camps they're building.
