Another report from rentals.ca shows that overall, new asking rents continue to head down month over month. Thanks to record rental construction and cracking down on speculation we are starting to see results for people looking for a place to call home.

US/Canada vehicle crossings saw a pronounced drop in year over year volumes of Canadian residents, especially in the same-day segment. In total this February there were about 350k fewer Canadian residents crossing into the US than the year prior (23% drop). Not much change for US resident crossings.

Being able to drop a quarterly US GDP prediction by 5.1% from +2.3% to -2.8% in a single week is one of the most impressive economic developments in the history of the world.

This would be a disaster.

Vancouver is in a housing crisis, largely driven by cities misusing their powers to erect exclusionary walls around themselves. The last thing we need is MORE exclusion.

The only possible effect from this is more homelessness. It is cruel and reactionary.
