22.09.2025 20:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Bligh has a decent amount of support from the province and feds (more than Sim or Allam at this point), which could help.
But her 6 years being a supporter of Ken Sim, and getting elected under both the NPA and ABC banners, means itโll be difficult to get support from local left-wing parties.
Rebecca Bligh voted to slash wages for workers, to block rental housing in wealthy neighbourhoods, and to oppose common sense tools to properly fund our schools.
We need a progressive mayor on the ballot to deliver the change Vancouver needs. And weโll get one. More soon.
Going to council today - motion #5
Iโm really curious to see how this is received. The motion potentially up-zones almost all of the weathiest single detached properties in the city.
Will be telling who is for/against.
IMPORTANT: Here in Vancouver on Sept 17th, City Council will consider a motion by Councillor @lucymaloney.bsky.social directing Staff to look at allowing 6-storey apts & retail at corners along active transport streets & around parks. This idea should have been done 10+ years ago.
Please support.
Many cities could use #BetterMayors.
Weโve had many excellent ones in recent years, including @annehidalgo.bsky.social @valplante.bsky.social @clovermoore.bsky.social @wutrain.bsky.social
Who you choose to let be mayor has a huge effect on your cityโs success. It canโt be overstated.
Pick better.

22.07.2025 15:15 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1It's a housing crisis. Why is Vancouver still banning apartments on the vast majority of residential land?
This suppresses both non-market and market housing creation, exporting the city's shortage to rest of the region and province.

My motion to restore Vancouver's Renter Office may have failed today but on the bright side, I'd be surprised if the word "bollards" has ever been used as many times in a Council meeting as it was today. #Bollards
