I have perfected a lazy risotto. You pour the stock and wine in, bit of a stir, grate the cheese in, add a knob of butter and leave it on a really low heat for an hour.

Pedestrian, completely agree. There is a small junction near my house where if I see a car coming from one of three sides, I just stand stock still. Sometimes the driver will be motioning me forward. First of all I can't see you doing that if it is dark, or there is a glare on your windscreen, etc.
