It's one apartment that a currently homeless single mother could afford, Michael. What could it cost? $2,300?

I might even posit that framing the issue as "men getting laid" as opposed to "men having very normal human desires for sex, connection, and validation" is part of the problem that the author is describing

Feel free to drag me for being a prude or whatever, but "men getting laid" is pretty much the least urgent framing I can imagine

Respectfully disagree. You say "policing wasn't an issue and now could very well be" as though that's an organic process, but journalists actively shape what's considered an issue. I don't think it's appropriate for reporters to be treating the Cuomo campaign as their assignments editor.

Michael Bolton Answers Every Question We Have About β€˜Jack Sparrow’ On the Lonely Island’s β€œbeyond vulgar” first idea, learning how to be less serious, and the gift that never stops giving.

It's been wild to learn that early drafts of the sketch would have required Michael Bolton to be extremely vulgar. That would not have been nearly as funny! The success of the sketch hinges on Bolton's earnest, wholesome respect for the films he is stanning www.vulture.com/article/mich...

(You could argue that it would be better if they'd picked a movie franchise not headlined by someone who has since been very credibly accused of abuse, and I would understand if you're not interested in revisiting the video for that reason. But it has no technical faults.)

I'm not trying to pick on this particular journalist or these particular experts β€”Β the problem lies with the editors who keep assigning the same story over and over and over again

"Perhaps you planned to increase your retirement savings each year, but instead succumbed to immediate gratification and upgraded to a nicer car each time you were promoted. Or you charged family vacations to your credit card but never fully paid them off. Maybe you diligently funded your retirement account, only to borrow from it to pay for costly home repairs because you didn’t have an emergency fund to cover the expenses."

I don't understand why editors allow personal finance journalists to make up guys to get mad at, and then talk to so-called experts about guys they've made up to get mad at, instead of actually talking to the people they're ostensibly writing about.

There are some replies saying "campaigns do this because it works" β€”Β in the sense of bringing in donations β€” but is it really working if it's negatively polarizing hundreds or thousands of recipients against the Democratic party for every recipient who chips in $5?

screenshot of text from an email: "AI Appreciation Day, celebrated every July 16, is kind of like a love letter to the invisible magic shaping our daily lives. From the playlists that somehow know our moods to the voice assistants helping us juggle busy mornings, AI is everywhere, often quietly working behind the scenes to make things a little smoother, a little smarter. But this day isn’t just about the tech; it’s about the people behind it, the dreamers, coders, scientists, and ethicists who pour their energy into building systems that (hopefully) make the world better. Whether you're marveling at a new breakthrough or just grateful your email spam filter didn’t let chaos in, AI Appreciation Day is our chance to step back and say: wow, look how far we’ve come, and let’s keep going… thoughtfully."
