Exactly. Those streets were never built for today’s traffic. With limited transport options and more cars per household, residents are the ones stuck with the noise, danger and congestion. They deserve safer, calmer streets.

You’re absolutely right about Stoney Lane too - it’s always been a bit of a nightmare.

I love my cycle rides and hate to miss them, but getting there and back safely is always a challenge. It’s tragic that it feels that way, and it really shouldn’t.

The Ladypool Rd is one of Birmingham’s busiest and most vibrant streets. But poor parking, speeding and dangerous driving make it unsafe. Imagine what it could be with safe streets, space for people and thriving local business. Time to act - pedestrianisation must be on the table.
