-not even calling it a regime, but government;
-It is sketchy to make claims about people's opinion based solely on regime's data. The available independent polls contradict her (I know the issues with such online polls, but by design there is nothing else) gamaan.org/2025/08/20/a...

Sadly she might be right about her assessment.
If not pro-regime, clearly trying to put it in a better light.
Besides the misrepresentation of hijab enforcement:
-presenting the attempt to a regime change as not serving Iranians' interests;
-toning down the regime's killings of thousands Iranians;

Interesting to read, but the article reads like the take of a pro-regime reformist. Eg they haven't relaxed hijab enf after 2022, they have even increased penalties (+reports of harsher enforcement even during war). &that was after many deaths. The people I speak to don't see this as a viable option

Δυστυχως ναι. Είναι απλα τραγικοί, ειδικά όταν ένας από αυτούς λέει ότι η αλλαγή καθεστώτος θα μπορούσε, τελείως υποθετικά, να ήταν θετική για τους Ιρανούς, αλλά υπονοεί ότι δεν είναι καλή λύση επειδή θα ωφελούσε περισσότερο τις ΗΠΑ και το Ισραήλ. Προτεραιότητες..

Ακούς @thepressproject.libretooth.gr.ap.brid.gy και παίρνεις την εντύπωση ότι για όσα συμβαίνουν στο Ιράν φταίνε σχεδόν αποκλειστικά οι κυρώσεις και Ισραήλ/ΗΠΑ, δηλαδή ακριβώς η αφήγηση του καθεστώτος, το οποίο ουσιαστικά ξεπλένουν.

Iranians are chanting his name & I would say that deserves reporting irrespectively of our thoughts about monarchy. What is underreported is that he does not formally claim the crown & has formed a coalition with a clear transition plan with a referendum, drawing support even from anti-monarchists.

Grateful to @andrewdessler.com for coordinating this (and keeping us on schedule)! I feel proud for having contributed to this monumental effort alongside some of my role models in this field. It felt necessary to respond to the report that was misleading at best and dangerous at worst.

Proud to be part of an effort by 85 scientists from around the world to respond to a misleading DOE climate science report last month.

The fact that our rebuttal is more than 3x the length of the DOE report is a good example of Brandolini's Law in action...

There's a lot of very interesting material in the response from experts across many domains if you want to learn something solar reconstructions, coral reefs, U.S. temperature data, atmospheric temperature trends, climate models, etc. Andrew did a great job organizing with a very small (30d) window.
