I've loved DL my whole life but anyone defending the whole TM thing is way off base, he was a dude looking for meaning everywhere and they hooked him in a long time ago.

I left almost a decade ago, but yeah those folks are used to motorcycles being around - FL has a bunch of “watch for motorcycles” stuff everywhere and it really helps!

I bounced off that game super hard the first time right when I got to the first big city, it just felt so janky

I think locale matters a ton too - I rode regularly in FL but quit after 6 months in NC, lots of near death misses due to driver carelessness just made it really unfun
