Do you feed them? They'll understand if you reward different behaviour. I started feeding my crow friends when they flew alongside me as I rode on my scooter. So now they think I respond to pretty flying. They're very polite!

All potential interest in Dune vanished in 2015, as we all know. And it's been 2 years since anyone's had the faintest affection for The Princess Bride. The more you think about it, the more it makes sense.

Yeah, that tracks. No one's been even faintly interested in reading Pride and Prejudice since 1863, 50 years after it was published. It really lost its appeal after that point. There's famously been zero general interest in The Lord of the Rings since 2004, too.

I think we owe it to each other to be truthful. And of course people are going to be frustrated and irritated re: the use of AI, even outraged, so maybe that truthfulness will come out in a angry way. But that's not the same thing as being intentionally mean.
15.02.2026 18:38 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
I don't think you have to be MEAN to people who use AI. Just be HONEST and don't accept their claim that the AI slop they prompted was authored or created by them. That's not mean, that's just the truth. Granted, being bluntly truthful can land as meanness to some people.

Oh sorry, you already said you were at West Harbour. The only thing you need to work out is which platform is serving Union-bound trains, tap on, and then get on whichever one opens its doors on that platform, really.

I love Go trains so much. But then I love picking bizarre routes that go backwards and upside down through transit systems, it brings me great joy to get places no one expects you can get to via public transit.

America is the name of the continent. Your country isn't listed with the As, it's with the Us. Claiming the name is a rhetorical trick to claim ownership of territory, not unlike what Trump is threatening to do. The threat isn't new. It's just more blunt, unmasked, and harder to deny.

I understand the leaders of this movement had a lot of sway and a lot of authorities co-signed this, and that it was bizarrely partisan in the US. But surely some of these teachers were readers, and could observe that they were doing zero guessing when they were reading themselves.

I remember learning to read. There was no guessing and no pictures. It was about words. It was about convert the letters in words into sounds that become words as fast and smoothly as possible. Like learning to read music: following the symbols and converting it into sound seamlessly.
