I also write. I've been writing pretty seriously since about 2009. Finished a bunch of novel-length projects, but now I have ones I'm truly proud of that I'm moving forward with and self publishing. My debut novel, Savage as You, will be released ideally by summer. It's a process. (2/2)

I'm Jubilee, I go by Gem as a nickname. I'm very passionate about stories and how they're told. A book that's special to me is Dreamland by Sarah Dessen, it was the first book I ever picked out and chose to read on my own in my teens (not assigned as schoolwork). Inspired me to start writing. I'm leaning on this. But it just sucks the hardback and ebook would need separate numbers. If I buy 10 ISBN numbers through Bowker (sp?) It's like the price of two. I wonder if I can assign those numbers a product later. I am sitting on like 3 books as it is. This could get extensive fast. Thanks.

I met my partner on an old gaming forum for a now-defunct television channel. (G4) Good times.

I liked the idea of there being serious ramifications for carelessly using spells or artes. It puts an interesting ticking clock element in any given skirmish. Axis can also be channeled through a catalyst like a staff or... other things, to help mitigate the impact on the brain.

To finish editing The List of Ashen Bone, my second book, and get my first book, Savage as You, as close to published as it can get, if not published. I'm thinking I might figure out how to advertise it after it's out. I just want it out there already. I commissioned its cover last May. 💀

I'm Gem. In my universe there're two types of energy: Ki and Axis. Ki can be channeled into Artes (a flaming fist) and Axis into spells (a fireball). Ki exists in blood/the cardiovascular system. Axis exists in spinal fluid/the nervous system. Using either recklessly can be deadly.

Correct! And the nature of Tey 'Ra 'Tah and why it exists is a massive plotpoint. As well as what the Gods and other powerful individuals wish to do with it. TRT's existence also bridges the gap between other realms. So there's a semi-complex network of realms at play.

I truly hope I live to see a day where our treatment in the media and how we're talked about by these ghouls is regarded as reprehensible as the racist and sexist propaganda of their respective days. We are portrayed as less than human, therefore fine to hurt and erase.
