So when thousands of women (and children) were being duplicated--including in non-consensual AI porn--it was no big deal. But it took "only a 15-sec clip" of these two famous white men to draw outrage and fear. Gotcha. Cool cool.

(1/11) If you live in NY, youโ€™ve probably started seeing a new warning: โ€œTHIS PRICE WAS SET BY AN ALGORITHM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA.โ€ This mandatory disclosure went into effect late last year, and itโ€™s the first attempt by a US state to grapple with a new generation of surveillance pricing.

Why Dem's Can't Blink on ICE Funding Plus thoughts on the Texas primary, impeachment, and Chuck Schumer's future

Dems get a lot of shit for not fighting hard enough against Trump, but they have stood strong on ICE funding. They have the upper hand in this fight; they can win and absolutely cannot blink, no matter how long it goes

Makes sense that the same people who tone-police those who call what we're living through by its actual name - and think themselves sophisticates and realists for so doing - are "reassured" by the mere <tone> of a speech that advertises its ill intent toward our multicultural European democracy.

What stuck for me most were remarks by the Director General of the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency. So much we can all learn from Sweden and whole of defence approach. 2/2

I just left the Munich Security Conference. Itโ€™s a bubble. Biggest focus: what will the US, repped by Rubio, say? From a democracy and progress perspective, his remarks were insane. As we know, the window keeps shifting, so Europe was relieved by the remarks - which I think is a mistake 1/2

Trump nominated a legit white nationalist to a top post at the State Department. I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the โ€œerasure of white cultureโ€. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.

I only just got around to reading this piece by Emmanuel Mauleรณn. Itโ€™s a must read that distinguishes the crisis on the ground in practice from how it feels like so many academics/think tank folks are defining crises based on past definitions and history.

I need to correct something here. The Act did not pass, a rules vote did. Unfortunately, the vote is likely to go the same way

2) gives credence to the argument that elections can, writ large, be questioned, no matter what the rules. The passage of the SAVE Act โ€œallowsโ€ Trump to question election results w more political legitimacy, bc passage of the bill means passage of a narrative that elections may have been undermined

11.02.2026 21:34 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I donโ€™t actually think the point of the SAVE Act, esp. by Nov 2026 is to get voting done by these rules (thatโ€™s impossible). Instead the strategy is much bigger. 1) It legitimizes ICE surges AND 2) ๐Ÿ‘‡

The SAVE Act just passed. Every vote for the SAVE Act was a vote to disenfranchise Americans.

Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate โ€” overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.

call congress to reject the SAVE Act!

The SAVE Act, at its core, aims to disenfranchise voters and undermine U.S. democracy.

1) Germanyโ€™s still sovereignty washing while calling for sovereignty
2) Germany cannot seem to strategize for medium-term results (just passed EV subsidies that can be used on any car including Chinese build)
3) And yet DE is still favoring veteran industries in policy-making every single time 2/2

Great piece (in German) by @beyond-ideology.bsky.social on how Germany/EU should be responding to Carneyโ€™s leadership to galvanize middle powers. Itโ€™s a big overview. I think the tech leadership part needs a deep understanding of how everythingโ€™s connected 1/2

I think biggest problem w the deal is 1) it could continue to be a bargaining chip, but is being given up way too easily (Greenland IS NOT over) and 2) in the last 6 months the U.S. kept pushing for tech reg. changes/enforcement alleviation despite the EU thinking weโ€™d negotiated that canโ€™t happen

Joint Statement on a United States-European Union framework on an agreement on reciprocal, fair and balanced trade The United States and the European Union are pleased to announce that they have agreed on a Framework on an Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade ('Framework Agreement').

Last week MEPs had halted voting on the EU-US framework agreement negotiated (on trade and tariffs) in the summer. The Commission was pushing for it. Earlier this week it was clear MEPs have given in and will allow for scheduling a vote. Hereโ€™s the outline of that deal

04.02.2026 10:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The EU-U.S. framework deal is moving forward. Some MEP justifications are: โ€œThe situation with #Greenland is off the table" - ลฝeljana Zovko. This type of naivety is why it's hard to trust lawmakers know what they're doing. At the very least, get US guarantees. The deal was bad then, it's worse now.
