See I’ve only ever read fire and blood and watched like the first 9 eps of HOTD so I’m so loosely connected to the fandom space that these things just emerge fully formed and 3 layers of discourse deep like the kraken and I just sit there blinking like 😮

My mind just goes blind with panic when I try to think of a single thing I could ever want 😅 it’s an affliction 😭

Sometimes I pass a post of tumblr where someone is full essay raging about characters I kind of know in a fandom I have tangential knowledge of and I’m like “is this incredibly personal or have I just missed a large piece of drama all these years??” Because it’s impossible to tell anymore

The stupidest fandom thing about me remains the fact that I can’t participate in fic trades or events where you have to submit requests because I don’t mind my writing being judged but god forbid I ever ask anyone for anything that’s simply mortifying

You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't

Not that people can’t like things like Bc everyone has different tastes but there is a very very specific “woe is me” reaction that always makes me chuckle - tho tbh I’ve found albums through the power of people hating on twitter so ig they’re doing something productive (for me)

Like I’ve seen the same group of people go insane with “I hate this”, “this is the worst thing ever”, “this person should be forced to retire” when they’re given new music by any of a few popular (female) artists that I’m just like “that’s nice kids I’ll be back in 2 weeks when you’ve calmed down”

If it’s the one I’m thinking of the first reactions are always insane online and then after like a week reactionary twitter/tiktok users calm down it’s quite funny to watch as someone who has listened since the 2000s but wouldn’t touch the fandom with a 10ft pole
