Agreed... if we can get 3 players currently out by the other side of the international break, we should be able to write this one off and go again.

The defence will also punish themselves for the errors, which is no bad thing.

Enjoyed learning of @oliver-kathryn.bsky.social's journey through pracademia this week, who we've learned so much from already in our work on evidence use at EEF.

My takeaway? Get evidence into policy and practice, but 'look after your people' in the process.

We're pleased to have launched a funding round that will test 'Research Evidence Mobilisation' approaches - methods for supporting leaders to engage with and apply evidence to classroom practice.

This blog gives some context around why.

Closing date 5th November.

Estimates suggest Norway has similar proportion of millionaires to population as UK.

Journos also missing the point that wealth taxes aren't just about raising funds, but also disincentivising rampant compounding of wealth / monopolisation that contributes to issues like the housing shortage.

'Avoid generalisations by diagnosing the specific needs of your pupilsโ€Šโ€”โ€Šwhatโ€™s true in one setting may not be in another.'

Love this.

National education discourse is rife with moral panics about national outcomes (attendance, R&R, belonging), but local needs are identified through proximity.

Great points - easy to fall for illusion of invulnerability when the need for change is desperate.

Also wonder whether we underestimate the potential impact on pupil self-efficacy. Being taught in the 'other class' can stay with people for life.

Unsurprising, but implication is teacher perception of their mastery of teaching strategies is important alongside the actual improvements in practice.
