Not spinnable (and AFAIK not spun) as the advantage of the governing party being Close to Business (which as you say, is a line that can be tried elsewhere)
I'm not seeing this. The Mail and Badenoch are both turning on Mone today. The original (obvs bad faith) excuse for the VIP lane that "we had to move fast to save lives" isn't a right-wing move, it's one anyone could make?

Why would left-thinking politicians be any harder to lobby than right-leaning? Different people, different pitch, same mechanisms.
Status quo is "access to pliable people in power" shurely?

Lol just saw the advert in the print edition - overgrown holiday cabin on disused gravel pit would be more like it.
There are lakes and "lakes"...
I've visited places like this (near the famously exploding Buncefield oil depot) and they are kinda anonymous and low-key? Eerily quiet outside tbh.

And despite 40ish years of pro-market governing consensus, we still have a chunky state that intervenes broadly across the economy, so it feels like we recognise the limitations of markets implicitly already.
I guess I want to distinguish between a new "model" (dramatic!) and adjustments within existing models (banal!).
I think it would be a good idea to tax more to support better services, whether or not that restores pre-2009 trend growth.
That's a banal adjustment that doesn't imply any view...

Why wouldn't the answer be: you've had your long 20th century, from here on it's diminished/ing returns and better cake-cutting. Government's job is to moderate expectations, and stop pretending we can return to old trends?
Or more "tasty fly and spider, shall we move on to the bird course or call it a night?"
