I'm not longer in Calgary, so I don't know some of the non-party affiliated councillors/winners, but doesn't it feel like the balance of power between progressives/conservatives stayed the same. Or am I miss reading the tea leaves.

Not going to lie, as someone who ran a campaign aginst him in Ward 11, I'm super curious how Farkas 2.0 is going to act as Mayor of Calgary. On the one hand, I remember that campaign, but on the other a lot of people who's opinion I really value have come out in support of him. #yyc #yyccc

Yeah, doesn't really look like it help individual council seats. I think it may have helped Sharp in her votes, but overall council make-up seems to be the same structure, maybe a tiny bit more progressive (if my understanding is correct).

So did the Party system help or hinder candidates in the #yyc election. Looking at raw data, it feels like most of the party wins were either incumbents or front runners. Only one where it appears to have helped (dramatically) was Ward 11.
