Day 61 in Ireland: I can almost understand the singing bird in the carbon monoxide commercials.

Today I was really surprised that a customer service person addressed me by name when she answered the phone, and then later I got her feedback form and it also had my name and I realized she actually had introduced herself and probably didn't understand why I responded with "woh, you know my name"

Tfw you set a boundary at work with full support of your supervisor and spend the rest of the day having a mild panic attack at every new email thinking someone is mad at you.

Does anyone else struggle to not take "there are no wrong answers" as a challenge

All I can do
is everything I can.

Being the cryptid at an IT conference is a challenge but I think I'm pulling it off.
Dressing formally every day, flustering the sponsors by asking them to demonstrate promised accessibility features, watching a livestream of a feral cat birth at breakfast.

In reply to my request that their tool prompt you for alt text:
"[company] aims to offer a smooth experience for all users, including both editors and end users, and others may not want universal pop-ups/warnings, etc"

Okay, so not *all* users, then. Just the subset of users that you think matter.

"do you want to do this project?"
Yes.

"My team can help you with it."
Sure, but I also have experience in that field and have been preparing to do a project like this for months.

"Well you think about it. Maybe over the Summer or next year-"

A thing I can't get used to is people saying "gf" and not meaning girlfriend.
"GF diet" oh a diet you go on because you want a girlfriend?
And then some people abbreviate that to "GFD" and My brain says "girlfriend disease?"

I think I'll put "No Gods No Masters" on my About Me slide so everyone at the conference knows that I don't have an advanced degree and I don't want to go to church with them.

In an email yesterday a coworker said "I hope things slow down and your neurons recover."

I had just sent her back a remediated handout about the effects of chronic stress but this feels like a good blessing to share with everybody.
