I feel so lucky to have been the Book Club captain for almost 3 years – as @heyira.bsky.social says, the dirty secret is that people love science. They just need a way in. Thanks for writing this book, @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social, and for spending an afternoon in an airport cubicle with us.

Protesters β€˜Stand Up For Science’ At Rallies Across The Country Scientists aren’t always encouraged to be politically active. But recent political interference by the Trump administration has many fired up.

We kick off with @aniloza.bsky.social, who joins us to discuss today’s Stand Up For Science rallies and what he's heard from organizers and attendees. Plus, a scientist and a student share why they're fired up to attend local rallies.

So what exactly is the Project for Awesome? Since 2007, my brother @hankgreen.bsky.social and many friends and online creators have come together to host an annual 48-hour livestream in support of great charities. Over the years, we've raised over $22,000,0000 for a huge variety of charities...

Meteorologists!

I run a science ed. nonprofit called @skypeascientist.bsky.social. We match scientists w/classrooms for virtual Q&As.

We always run out of meteorologists before any other speciality.

Will you volunteer to speak with some classrooms in spring πŸ₯Ί

This is super true, and it’s true in music, too; the industry relies heavily on first week sales to stay afloat in both cases, so it’s great for authors and musicians if you buy stuff in the first week. But the idea that you have to have something to say about it right away or even soon, absurd!
