i feel like sometimes ppl priotitize trying to make Ed into the ideal partner for Stede. It's easier for Stede if Ed's "darkness" is all Izzy and Ed is just a princess in a tower Stede needs to rescue. But that is why Ed interpret's Izzy's love as unconditional vs. Stede's more naive feelings
