And any Congress person MUST serve 5 years or more to continue their employer healthcare plan. Those govt employee health plans are not any golden-plate coverage. Most plans actually suk and many of us MUST have an alternative plan to survive. Youngins need not worry right now!

I've seen a few current interviews and HE doesn't think he flipped. He claims he votes for his PA base and his conscience, not any party. That is what he said a few times.

He did vote against the Big Ugly Bill, pressure from his PA base. BUT! He voted YES to the CR that GUTS the ACA subsidies! So yes, he voted to gut it since it's a fact the House/POTUS refuse to fix it. At least at this point. Hope that changes.

My understanding is that any Congress person serves 5 or more years, they can CONTINUE the employer healthcare insurance AFTER they depart service. Most are wealthy and have better coverage.

He has Federal Employee (OPM) healthcare. JUST like every other federal employee. I have it and it is NOT much better than anything else on the market! In some ways, it is worse! Like millions of workers, it is simply considered "EMPLOYER HEALTH INSURANCE".

A sitting U.S. Senator does not have free healthcare for life. Members of the U.S. Congress, like other federal employees, pay into a health insurance program and must meet specific eligibility requirements to continue coverage into retirement.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them."
