For the past week and a half a law enforcement helicopter has hovered over our community daily for hours. It isn’t emitting an ADS-B signal, so its origin can’t be tracked. I’ve written to MPD Chief Smith: Who is flying it?, Why is it here, Why no signal? What’s the cost? We deserve transparency.

A resident at our ANC 5B meeting said we don’t represent “us” and mocked the accents of fellow commissioners. That’s unacceptable. We were elected to serve everyone. I’ll be reaching out directly to share my concerns and seek common ground rooted in respect.

Big changes could be coming to how DC handles alley lots including right here in #5B. The Office of Planning is proposing zoning amendments to allow more residential use + clearer rules. If you’ve ever said “they never ask for input”…well, they’re asking.
