If we’re logging avian complaints: as a child I got pecked on the head by an emu.

It's a terrible picture, but I can report that Elizabeth Raffald's heavily plagiarised 'to barbecue a leg of pork' is incredible. (It's 90% in the sauce, and of that, quite a lot lies in the quality of your lime pickle). Obviously it's a complete and utter bastardisation of the original concept 1/

starting to think we should give "strange women lying in ponds distributing swords" a chance as a basis for our system of government

I preferred it when “people forgetting that the UK’s foreign born population is younger than the native born” manifested itself in stupid but well-meaning ideas like Labour’s “let’s have ethnic pay gap reporting” (still on course to happen by the way), not demonisation.

In many cases with difficult international issues, the more you know the less clear the objectives of the parties involved. But in the case of Gaza, the more I learn, the more I am convinced that a genocide is Israel’s clear intent.

It totally could be, coal is mentioned in the house listing. I’m definitely not an expert, except in leaning on them for warmth when I find one in a house 😊

I was going to ask my parents if they knew who owned it 😆

Hah, that’s funny. I didn’t spot the US postcode. Wallingford is a small English market town near where I grew up. I saw the Aga and assumed that someone had managed to get that weird architectural style past the planners.

Hah, this way I get to give you some colour rather than just be a tosser on the internet.

Very cosy, I’d think. Maybe it’s a shelf for dogs? Leaning with your back on an Aga stove on a winters day, warming your bum, is very cosy. It’d be warm beside it too. It’s basically a big cast iron fireplace, it radiates heat.

Also worth mentioning they cost an absolute bloody fortune.

Oil is mentioned in the listing too. Wood or coal would very inconvenient, as you’d need to keep topping the fire up.

Aga is a well known brand of stove in the UK, I’m guessing there’s a water boiler inside this one. Perhaps the tap at the front is where the hot water comes out. The tap at the top is perhaps the tap to fill, if it doesn’t fill automatically. Not sure on the fuel type, but perhaps oil.

From the replies (bsky.app/profile/dasb...) here's Sam Altman doing what the quoted post described. He seems serious about it.

Bonkers, perhaps, but also really good at raising money with a straight face and just zero rationale for anything. Wow.

Hey presto, there are “AmbientTemperature”, “UserComment”, and “Annotations” fields (? tags?). I wonder if Apple Photos displays them?

All of which was spurred by my wife trawling holiday photos from last year to work out what she was wearing, and me thinking “I wonder if there’s EXIF tags I could use to store the weather and conditions at the time and location of the photo”.

Related: just been reading the EXIF spec and was surprised to find the security classification tag.

Gonna set the “SecurityClassification” EXIF tag on a few images in Apple Photos to “Restricted” and see if anyone comes knocking on the door.
