He said border agents told him they needed to determine whether he and his wife were a national security threat to Canada. βThat never happened to me in my long life,β said Falk. Thursday also happened to be his 95th birthday, he said.
The government of Canada needs to directly address why a 95 year old human rights expert and former UN Special Rapporteur was treated as a threat to national security for coming to speak about Israeli genocide.

When the government accuses asylum seekers of being given "golden tickets" and "tearing the country apart" and the media cheers them on, you know the mainstream elite has accepted fascism as a valid alternative to the radical change needed to address the many crises this country is facing

Thereβs a sense in which we might not be here doing what we do were it not for the disability community Alice helped cultivate on twitter. 16.11.2025 13:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That somehow someone at the UN is able to make and post and AI generated video including a false testimony from a rape and war without anyone realizing how wrong that is until The Guardian approached for comment. just shows how acritically people are adopting AI as a tool. It's devastating.

16.11.2025 12:10 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Any discussion of the radicalising effects of social media that doesn't acknowledge that the governing party of the UK is systematically abandoning tens of thousands of desperate, regular people to try and impress a bunch of bedroom-dwelling cretins on Twitter is beneath you and not worth your time.
16.11.2025 12:01 β π 89 π 18 π¬ 0 π 0At least Reform and the Conservatives don't try and pretend that attacking some of the most vulnerable and marginalised groups in society is "progressive", yet Labour does. The hypocrisy of Labour and those defending its policies is rage inducing and deserving of nothing but contempt. 3/
16.11.2025 09:41 β π 75 π 18 π¬ 1 π 0Then again, we see same thing with Labour cultists, and at this stage I think it is fair to use that word, defending Labour's anti-trans and non-binary policies, their attack on the disabled and more, all while claiming it is to stop Reform. What's the point of stopping Reform by becoming it? 2/
16.11.2025 09:41 β π 57 π 7 π¬ 1 π 0Watching a number of Labour supporters defend Mahmood and this government over their sickening anti-immigration/asylum rhetoric when they would have been hollering against it if it was the Tories or Reform saying it. Because THIS is what will break down a society, not some poor soul escaping incredible dangers, arriving on our shores.
Whenever I read about the Franocist atrocities, and the ongoing discoveries, I think about how Salvador Dali reportedly sent a letter to Franco, congratulating him on "cleaning up" Spain, and it makes me ill.
16.11.2025 08:54 β π 16 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0To explain briefly: at the moment people successful in their asylum claims get permission to stay in the UK for 5 years, then have to apply for permanent residency. The ongoing cruelty of Mahmood (below) & the rest of Labour brings that to mind.
