But here's a sketch from today

I recently read a translation of The Haunting of Hill House into German, and they made Theo’s flatmate male, and this has to be one of the worst translation mistakes in the history of translation.

I used to think, well I’m not autistic (nobody suspected back then), so they can’t be either because they are a lot more normal than me…

I was actually a pretty cliché autistic kid, didn’t have friends, socially anxious, got clocked as the weird one as soon as I entered a room. But I was a girl, so it never really occurred to anyone that I could be autistic. My brothers were suspected early on, but they were way more social than me.

That’s how it went in my family for a long time. I would dismiss any suggestion that relatives could be autistic because they had friends or too much empathy. Until the diagnoses started dropping left and right.

i’m such a fan of rural roadside letter board signs i don’t know what it is but they have a certain charm to them, especially when they are old and missing letters

for example i often drive by a church sign that reads “EEK THE LORD”
