We want to be able to say stuff that other people, for institutional reasons, can’t say, or they’re too afraid to say. You may be the only CEO in America making that promise. We’re in a unique position, certainly. And other places have to learn from this — being afraid all the time and just constantly making transactional moves. How long can you survive like this? What is even the point of being alive if you’re just gonna continue managing rot? And it seems like that’s what 98 percent of people are doing in these media companies right now. I don’t know, take a chance. Nobody likes what’s happening. Especially if you’re a journalism company or a media company, you’re [meant to be] actually reflecting what people want or what people believe. So get some guts and do something interesting. It’s not that hard.

The world isn't silent on Gaza - this is by far the most vocal I have seen the general public on a political issue in my lifetime. I have also never seen a bigger difference between the anger of the public and the inaction of specific institutions and governments. That's the crucial disconnect.

they clinched survival in like March after already giving up the league, if it were actually a question it wouldn't have been a question for much longer

In his first season in the league, having sold the best player in the club’s history, we finished 5th and narrowly missed out on CL. In his second season amidst an absolute injury catastrophe we won a trophy and qualified for the CL. Literally what are we expecting another manager to achieve??

It is *wild* to me that a manager who took us to 5th last season and a European trophy this season is being cast aside.

3) Given that the league was never therefore going to be a path to Europe, and relegation *was 100% not a risk* putting all eggs in Europa is the only logical strategy, as it simultaneously addressed two top-level priorities: Win something and get into Europe

I think all this “17th isn’t good enough” logic is pretty obviously flawed.

1) What would be a realistic target league finish going into last season? Pre-season I’d say average estimate was 6th

2) Factor in the injury problems we had and 6th looks wildly optimistic. Let’s say 10th

People made fun of Klopp for saying #LFC supporters needed to change from doubters to believers before anything would improve. He was right.
