I recently started doing open mic any schmo can try stand up. I get a couple chuckles every other set. Is that a sign to give up already? Or is it a sign that getting a couple chuckles which is a couple more than the schmucks who get NO chuckles means I’m on to something?

The irony of dressing like this guy and saying I’m going as an adult for Halloween is that I’m fairly immature for 44 and I refuse to grow up in almost any way as a conscious life choice because I reject everything we were taught growing up about what it means to be mature… except how to dress.

I have subsequently been educated that both versions of Born in the USA were recorded in the same sessions so it was reasonable for the well known version to be used in that scene… now I can move on with my life.

Electric Nebraska is indeed very good. And I will say one actual thing about the movie: why did they use the official Born in the USA in the scene that would have featured the electric Nebraska version? Wasn’t hearing the original version the whole point of this? Oh madòn, 🤌🤌🤌

Technically my first concert was Kool & the Gang but it was an accident, walking into it and it was a free show at the stock exchange, they were hired by a company going public and well… Lilith Fair counts as my first proper concert. But Kool was still cool!

Watched the Lilith Fair documentary, was getting wistful for the era, thinking about how it was my first proper concert…then the moment happens where Sarah Mclachlan does the thing to Chrissie Hynde and well that certainly didn’t happen at the one I went to!

Completely beloved punk musician elder uses social media almost daily to post updates on records, tours, etc and it’s all fine stuff but each post comes with up close face selfie and they’re always pensive and it has nothing to do with the content and I’m not sure why it always has to be this way.

Heartbreaking: Neo-soul legends Angie Stone and D’Angelo both passed away in 2025, just 7 months apart. Stone died in March at 63. D’Angelo died today at 51. They shared a son together. An entire generation’s soundtrack, gone. Rest in power to both 🕊️💔
