I hated it. Then I listened to Dithering and checked out DF and got it.

One thing I'd change is the prominence of timeouts. Too big. Perhaps they could start smaller and subtly and dynamically grow as their relevance increases during a game.

I almost feel like there's white space for newsletter writers and Substackers to create publications that curate the content of a specific third-party publication for a specific audience.

I can read about 1% of the NYT's output. I'd pay a guy $5 monthly to tell me what's good.

It's never been easier to be an autodidact.

I'd pay $$$ for an online culture publication that resurfaces/reviews/compiles great content – books, movies, long-form magazine articles, radio show recordings – from decades ago.

Something that hews to the Lindy mental model of consuming things that'll still be around a few decades from now.

Does anyone else use social media so much less now it's fragmented?

Twitter was once the 'everything store,' so I could justify hours spent there.

Now the right's center of gravity is over there, the left's is here, the long-form folks are on Substack, and the cool kids are in their group chats.
