This looked the worst to me

Apple tree just missing its century, few leaves this year, regular fungus, even the mistletoe has given up, now wobbling at the stump so rotting underground. Never pinned down the variety, late August with firm fruit softening quickly, pronounced aniseed flavour. Shown with crown before hacking back

Apple tree hacked back as much as I can do, just the main branches now. Hopefully will withstand incoming gales for a few days, and not fall where it shouldn't.

Argh. Dying/dead apple tree wobbling in a way it shouldn't, incoming gale warning on Wed...
