it's not particularly clear in this story but the reason she's his ex is because she dumped him after his being named in an assault allegation by a different woman in February.

As someone who ran around my local town as a kid, I find myself infuriated at the law enforcement officers who brought these charges. A 7-year-old is old enough to walk to the store. We should be *encouraging* childhood independence, even if there may be tragedies caused by car-centric design.

One problem with America now is that it feels entirely uncertain that courts would not vacate the offices of elected officials, an undemocratic action to punish democratic representatives protesting other undemocratic actions.

DeSantis already proved this in Florida with Andrew Warren & Monique Worrell. Courts dragged their feet for over two years while unelected political appointees consolidated power.
