3/ This increases the likelihood of a democratic tea party movement bc democrats continue to lock out young leaders from obtaining leadership positions within the party.

2/ And Schumer lost the rest of the party on this vote. He is not the de facto leader of senate democrats anymore. This just blows a hole in any legislation going forward from the house democrats. It also opened a huge chasm in the party.

I think the key takeaway from the Senate democrats on the CR is that we need new leadership. We are going to have the same problem in September if Schumer stays at the helm. And you know you have a problem when Pelosi, Jefferies, Nate Silver, and democratic centrists all come out against you.

We need to primary these 10 "democrats" and remove them from leadership positions. That is the logical step forward from this fiasco. They are going to do the same thing in September.

I still appreciate all of the efforts to get the senators to reconsider. I'm with 50501 and we tried very hard with people calling their representatives from what I saw on reddit. At least now the illusion of unity for the democratic party is gone. Now we can move forward.
