That’s the wild part, I cannot understand why Americans don’t jump at the chance to not have to fight insurance companies for treatment.

We’re still making it work today, though. Rates have increased, of course, but everybody is still chipping in a bit and everyone is still covered. Insurance companies would lose staff, staff moves to universal plan admin, re-educated to allow rather than refuse. Takes work to implement. So do-able!!
