I would say heโ€™s definitely right on this point.

What are you disputing specifically?

Explain where the spike comes from other than refugees pouring into the country.

You do know that there is a hot war on Polandโ€™s doorstep, right?

Care to elaborate

Look at the rental inflation spike after 2022

0.7% of the housing stock isnโ€™t significantly high, although it is growing as a proportion of rented dwellings.

Iโ€™m talking about Poland, not the UK

Interesting that Poland is mentioned in the article, but no reference to the influx of almost 2m Ukrainians into the country after 2022, which has been the main driver for rising prices in the rental market. Institutions play a relatively modest role in the major cities.

Thatโ€™s false. Most micro businesses & SMEโ€™s arenโ€™t in the business of silencing anybody. You shouldnโ€™t assume that all economic activity mirrors the behaviour of major corporations. Remember, Facebook was originally a dorm room project. Dynamics & mechanics do change with economies of scale though.

Sorry, but thatโ€™s pure gobbledygook. Free market capitalism is the freedom of entities (people/companies) to innovate, incorporate and trade. Free markets only flourish within system of norms, rules, checks and balances - to guard against fraud and corruption (not always of course). Thatโ€™s it.

Iโ€™m not shifting at all. Iโ€™m trying to clarify exactly what fascism is as the economic model, given that isnโ€™t an economic model. Enlighten me.

06.07.2025 21:52 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You actually brought up fascism, not me. And you suggested it was an economic model, which is isnโ€™t. Given that we were talking about economics and not politics perhaps you were the one who changed the frame. Maybe youโ€™re just perfect & afford yourself the right to go off topic as and when you wish.

06.07.2025 21:47 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Did the fascistic regimes that we saw in the 20th century (Germany, Chile, Italy, Greece, among others) all share the same economic model?

06.07.2025 20:00 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Fascism is a political ideology, not an economic system. Or maybe you can just explain why & how fascism is a deregulated form of capitalism.

06.07.2025 19:55 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

They are free market capitalist economies. Thatโ€™s how they earn money. Try not to get too confused by how the proceeds of economic growth are then distributed. Thatโ€™s a different question. Without the income you have no distribution. Are you beginning to understand now?

06.07.2025 19:35 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Name one, just one, real-world example of capitalism that has zero regulation.

06.07.2025 19:32 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It most definitely is freemarket capitalism. You can come up with an idea, set up a company and make a profit. Whoโ€™s stopping you? The proceeds of your entrepreneurship may well be taxed, but thatโ€™s a different argument altogether.

06.07.2025 11:58 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

So explain to me why free market capitalism is bad for both Denmark & Sweden. Your original contention was that free market capitalism is bad for entrepreneurs.

Well, if we use South America as our laboratory for populism, at some point it ends up with the military leaving their barracks & stepping in to clear up the mess. Letโ€™s hope the body count is lower.

The quality of your intellectual engagement is very shaky. All I get are slogans & unclear diatribes. Letโ€™s agree to disagree.

West Germany was democratic. Show me where Iโ€™m wrong.

05.07.2025 18:47 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Back up your claims with clear, verifiable data & I may engage. Lay off the slogans & gimme some evidence.

Germany has been a democratic country since 1945, later expanded when East German communism died a death & its people chose democracy. Post-war Europe & the EU is a success story. How do you explain the number of post-communist countries applying to join the EU? Are they all stupid?
