Fait assez peu connu, l'arabe est langue officielle de l'Union Européenne. Ou plutôt, l'un des dialectes de l'arabe.
Il est même utilisé au parlement.
Parce que l'un des pays de l'UE a cette langue comme langue nationale. Mais qui, pourquoi et comment ?

Je m’amusais à prendre des photos de pancartes où on retrouvait des kana qui ne sont plus utilisés aujourd’hui (変体がな). J’en ai une petite collection 😆

Par ailleurs, si Louis ne venait pas ici qu'occasionnellement dépenser son argent gagné en France ( #cestLouisquipaie ), il n'aurait sans doute pas été berné par la distorsion d'un yen dévalué de 30% depuis 2021 et aurait su que les prix de la restauration ne cessaient d'augmenter depuis des mois.

Just got back from Hokkaidō, which inspired me to look up Ainu manuscripts for #ManuscriptMonday. Here's Stepan Krasheninnikov's 1738 "A Glossary: Latine-Ainu-Chukchi-Koryak-Itelmen," an early record of the Ainu language.

Table of Old Korean 'tree' words in the Jīlín lèishì (鷄林類事, early 12c.); original transcriptions (using Chinese characters) are given alongside their Early Middle Chinese, reconstructed North Song Chinese, and Sino-Korean readings.
My first paper, "On the origin of Korean namwu 'tree'" [in Korean], was published in Kwukehak 114. In it, I explore historical, dialectal, and toponymic evidence to propose a new proto-form for 'tree', involving partial borrowing from proto-Japonic. Read it below:

How different are the various Japanese dialects from Tokyo Japanese? Which are the most different? Dialectometry allows us to answer this question visually. The darker the colour on the map, the more different the dialect spoken there is from that spoken in Tokyo (red dot)

ななしと (nana shi to) : "ne le fais pas"
Donc par exemple, on l'exemple célèbre du Heike : 春な忘れそ (haru na wasure so, "n'oublie pas le printemps").
On aurait eu le changement qui s'est opéré : 'na' V > 'na' V 'so' > V 'so'.
