Israel has murdered 265 Palestinian journalists.

As Mustafa Barghouti says, the genocide will not stop until action is taken against Israel. Starting with sanctions.

Today his govt is arresting a disabled blind man for holding a placard.

Sudan gripped by deadly crisis as hunger, disease and heat intensify The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) raised the alarm on Wednesday over the rising toll of hunger, disease and displacement in various conflict-ridden parts of Sudan.

Starvation is also being used as a weapon of war in Sudan. Famine and death is on the rise and largely absent from the media.

"We need action, the time for words has passed"

And Rachael Cummings from Save the Children is clear, airdrops aren't it. They don't deliver the amount of aid needed, they are not safe or dignified, they are unpredictable & uncontrollable, the aid doesn't reach the most vulnerable

Can’t help but think the rushed timing of this new Party is entirely down to the success of @zackpolanski.bsky.social Green Party leadership campaign, and if that is the case there can be no higher compliment πŸ‘

Why have you not just joined the Greens who are already the Party you want this new one to be?

We don’t need two Parties standing on the same policy platform. Such a great opportunity missed

British ministers are betting they won’t face justice for complicity over Gaza. It’s a big risk to take | Owen Jones David Lammy seemingly believes Israel and its supporters will always be able to act with impunity – but the status quo surely cannot hold, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones

David Lammy is betting that those complicit in Israel’s genocide will never go to prison.

He bets that Western and Israeli impunity will protect him and the other Guilty Men and Women forever.

It is a bet he may find he’ll lose.

The reckless and illegal killing of civilians waiting for lifesaving aid in Gaza must end.

No one should have to risk their lives seeking food, water or medical care.

Every day, Israel deliberately massacres unarmed civilians it has deliberately starved.

How is this possible?

Because instead of framing Israel’s atrocities as obscene outrages demanding urgent action, the Western media has normalised Israel’s atrocities.

At my first full council meeting last week, I expressed full support for twinning Winchester with the Ukrainian city of Nizhyn, and also spoke about the devastating humanitarian situation in Gaza, suggesting we explore similar acts of solidarity with Palestine

Since 7 October 2023 an average of 27 children have been killed in Gaza by Israel every single day.

A whole classroom of children wiped out everyday by a genocidal regime, even while queuing for food and water.

And still the UK government sells them weapons. Shame on them.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. As much as I agree with most of JC’s views, I think the Greens are the party of the future, and Zack Polanski offers a positive, fresh & inspiring, vision, which is exactly what this country needs in these dark days.

This 83-year-old priest has just been arrested for holding a sign which read:

β€œI oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.”

According to Starmer’s new law, this puts her in the same category as an ISIS or Al-Qaeda terrorist, with a prison sentence of up to 14 years.

4 MPs.

3 Assembly Members.

800+ councillors.

39 second place finishes to Labour.

Democratic, grassroots membership led process with internal elections for the entire executive happening right now.

The Green Party.

Real shame they haven’t just accepted Zack’s offer to join the Greens. We really don’t need two left wing parties standing on the same platform under FPTP

The left case for joining the Green Party now | Morning Star

We have already wasted too much time. Polanski has seized the moment. The rest of us need to step up: join the Greens by July 31 to vote for him, and his victory can be a decisive step towards a historic political breakthrough."

While it is likely that the total votes for Greens + New Left Party will eclipse what the Greens could currently get alone. I struggle to believe (for the time being at least) that the total left vote wouldn’t be higher still if Sultana, Corbyn, et al had just joined the Green Party instead 9/9

04.07.2025 12:22 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

This all begs the question why have Sultana and Corbyn not simply joined the Greens instead, especially after all the overtures Zack has made to them in recent months? Only they can answer that question but I’m yet to hear it 8/9

04.07.2025 12:22 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

During the Corbyn years the difference between the parties was pretty minimal - Brexit and FPTP probably being the main areas of difference. If anything the likelihood is that policy differences will be even less this time around 7/9

04.07.2025 12:21 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

But now the Greens have a new Left wing party to contend with, which they will very likely share an almost identical policy platform with. This will inevitably split the left vote, which will get punished under our archaic first past the post (FPTP) voting system 6/9

04.07.2025 12:21 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

With Starmer’s stock plummeting fast and the excellent Zack Polanski, very much on the left, having a great chance of leading the Party later this year the Green Party is again surging in the polls 5/9

04.07.2025 12:21 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The result in 2017 massively confounded my expectations and after it I spent more time as a Labour activist than a Green Party one. Sadly the 2019 result brought the left wing Labour project crashing down and after some time out licking my wounds I re-engaged with the Green Party 4/9

04.07.2025 12:20 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I personally was torn during these years. Originally I thought it was impossible for Corbyn to win when most of his MPs didn’t support him so I continued to be more active with the Green Party, especially as the my local Green Party MP candidate was more left wing than the Labour one 3/9
