Reliable(ish) polls have her up 5-10%. She spent very little time focused on the needs of the bottom half of the state where I live. The issues are different here. A little attention paid to this part of the state may have resulted in a blowout win that could help unseat Van Drew next year.

Don't get me wrong. She may work out to be a good governor. She'll at least staff up with professionals who are subject matter experts. I even have faith that she'll listen to them and run the state as a State, not a vassal to a corrupt national government.

She's just a terrible candidate.

Mikie Sherrill is a bad candidate. She hasn't campaigned nearly hard enough. Her only clear message is that Jack Ciattarelli is comfortable with being a maga puppet.

For his part Ciattarelli's pitch is that he's comfortable being a maga puppet.

Emotion is not something that I ever associate with this president. I really don't think that he feels pleasure or pain. That's why everything is transactional. He's either winning or losing; that's the only measurement that counts. Tariff revenue is a way to keep score; who pays is irrelevant.

You're not alone. I want to scream from the rooftops, but I've found it's more effective to work within my circle. Calmly and rationally teaching them that the policies of the regime are not at all biblical. It's a slow grind, but when the lies fall, they'll at least have a path back to the truth.

I’m actually with you on that. I’ve not heard any shame or contrition. Young and stupid may absolve the original action, but not seeing it as a problem and doing something about it feels like he doesn’t see it as a problem to begin with.

If he were to denounce it and livestream video of it being removed, would you be cool with him as a candidate again? How about if he did it before announcing his candidacy? Is there any level of mea culpa that would suffice, or must all of our politicians be pure?

So, we've flipped from, "if you're a Christian, you have to vote republican" to, "if you're not a republican, you couldn't possibly be a Christian".

What a subtle, but corrosive distinction.

I'm a Christian and I do accept Christ as King. Since it's wise do listen to the king's commands, I chose to welcome the foreigner, hate lies, love justice, and seek peace.

I don't know who these guys worship, but it doesn't seem like they're a bit concerned with protecting the least among us.
