TARANTULA (1955) was one of my favourite films as a kid - and still is! It therefore blew my tiny mind to hear its music in the trailer for John Beck’s KING KONG VS. GODZILLA. Assembling this short vid was partly driven by that childhood excitement!

when assembling the trailer for Universal-International’s release of the John Beck US cut of KING KONG VS. GODZILLA, the National Screen Service used portions of Herman Stein and Henry Mancini’s score for TARANTULA. This video is a “what if”: what if those scores had made it to the finished film?
