UK (or Irish) (or if you think of it, any non-American) boyband never broke through to NA really. Take That got one song as a hit but didn't. Nor Boyzone, Westlife, or the many others.

15.10.2025 09:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I thought The Corrs broke out a bit in NA briefly? Westlife never really did but seems to have a small following (me). Though their recent NA tour in Toronto sold out 3 nights so fast.

... because they're not THAT worried.
ok finally watched Pixar's Elio and... it was cute but I guess this was the one that cut any hint of LGBTQ+? Cause it definitely felt like it was supposed to be something more.
14.10.2025 03:48 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I won't elaborate on what I hope becomes of Sam Altman, but I do believe if we band together and work hard enough, we can make HIS job the one that becomes obsolete.

We need to confront the fact that democracy and wealth hoarding cannot coexist. Allowing people to amass the resources of a small state/country allows them to act as such, which is inimical to a shared society of βone person, one vote.β
I don't really want to quite believe the news about Diane Keaton.
12.10.2025 00:44 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've caught up with the first 2 eps of The Traitors Celebrity UK and I've seen Alan Carr on Graham Norton and other shows before but now I can't get enough. But also, we're almost the same age? WHAT? I thought he was way older.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button the Musical is not just the best Brisith musical in decades. It's easily the best British musical, and one of the best musicals period.
Seeing it back in January, wondered if I just saw the best show of 2025 already, and now seeing it on the last day, it def is.

For some reason I thought John Dalgleish had left the show (for an injury) but missed the news he had returned. I was looking forward to seeing his replacement but was also ELATED to see him reprise his Olivier winning role as Benjamin Button.
This whole cast though. Just THE BEST.

I"M BACK! BACK AT THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON THE MUSICAL ON THE LAST DAY OF PERFORMANCES AT THE AMBASSADOR THEATRE.
I STILL CANT BELIEVE I SNAGGED A RUSH TICKET FOR TODAY AFTER TRYING FOR A MONTH.
not on purpose but had way less coffees in the last month... and have had the worst sleeps in the last month. (otoh also maybe crossing time zones twice each week has not helped (not that I didn't do that before either since it's my life)).
11.10.2025 09:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0OMFG AFTER TRYING EVERY WEEK AND OF COURSE NOW IN THIS LAST MONTH EVERYONE IS FINALLY SEEING BENJAMIN BUTTON SO PRICES HAVE BEEN SKY HIGH... I MANAGED TO GET A RUSH TICKET ON THE LAST DAY OF PERFORMANCES! NEVER GIVE UP!!! (and it was at 10:05am so someone must have let that ticket slip through)
11.10.2025 09:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Def worth seeing. The Broadway cast looks great! (LOVE Victoria Clark though she seems to give a different sensibility to the casting in London)

Punch was great and obviously the subject matter is intense and fascinating. The play is slick. Though, maybe a tad too slick? It's again, very James Graham-ish. Polished and hits all the spots, if maybe a tad too spot-on at times?!
Superb original cast lead by David Shields as Jacob.

Saw Punch.
In the West End. Tho I also noticed is running on Broadway. Has a new play started on Bway and West End at the same time like this before? It can't be the first, can it? (Tho this is a transfer from Nottingham via Young Vic)
I do not judge. Tho I'm no expert on the chicken sandwiches. But will go to Wendy's for the frosty. and I do love me Harveys and McDs.

09.10.2025 03:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced βand not in a good way. What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money. Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight. To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.
TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckettβs most famous work without knowing anything about it

y'all, is it NOT that good enough to sacrifice your ethics over it. Nor does is it good enough to justify the normal price point (granted it was free today so I gave them no monies)
it's FIIIIIIINE I guess, not omgly
I remembered Taylor Kitsch in the English remake of Le Grande SΓ©duction but forgot Brendan Gleeson was in it too.

Ok Tell Tale Harbour basically feels like Come From Away light but really soars once the solos/ballads hit and Kale Penny and Melissa Mackenzie sing their Canadian romcom hearts out as the romantic leads. Cute and hokey. With requisite jokes about hockey (and cricket).
09.10.2025 01:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh yah uh... So it really does start as Come From Great Big Sea... I mean it's directed by Brian Hill who did the early workshop for Come From Away (that basically the full production looked like and won someone else a Tony Award).
