EASTER SECRET SCREENING EVENT Get weird with Killer Fitness for a debaucherous Easter Sunday

All of the screenings at Killer Fitness are super fun and worth going to, but I know what this secret screening is and it’s super exciting. Probably of special interest to a few of my mutuals. It’s gonna have the audience looking like this photo.

Realizing that this movie, and my obsession with it, would probably be Exhibit A in the case for my bisexuality.

I mean, that ending…

The entire film is mythic in a classical sense, where the moral of the story seems clear but also a bit alien from our modern sensibilities.

I love that the film’s metaphor is both so glaringly obvious, but also somewhat maddeningly unclear. Like it’s easy to read on a surface level, but the longer the movie goes on the more it doesn’t quite all add up.

That could be annoying but it comes across as intriguing.

Making my list of favorite foreign horrors was a reminder that I hadn’t yet opened up my Blu-ray copy.

This isn’t horror in the traditional sense, but there’s just something about it that works its way into my brain.

The Beyond will always have my heart, but this is the most successfully atmospheric of Fulci’s Gates of Hell trilogy.

There’s a bunch of releases, but the Cauldron 4K looks amazing and I love this cover art.

Love Divine Comedy. Casanova is probably my favorite but he’s remained incredibly consistent over the decades.

A real genuine actor. Even though he was always playing slimeballs and villains he seemed like a really warm individual.

I feel like Der Samurai is the only one on this list that might need explanation. It’s a much different movie than you might expect from that poster, and definitely not for everyone. It has a dreamlike fairytale feel that I really fell into.

Changed the prompt slightly because I have trouble declaring something my favorite. Also four is a ridiculously small number and I could have been at this for days trying to narrow it down. This gives me leeway in case I want to do it again.

Between BB, Versus, and Death Trance I really thought Tak Sakaguchi was gonna be the next big thing. He’s been very successful as an actor in Japan I just thought he was ready for a wider break.

This soundtrack is a favorite. I was 17 and it introduced me to so many amazing artists.

The first time I saw this was during the 1998 Rolling Thunder re-rerelease.

There was only one other person in the theatre and we were laughing so much he went to complain about us. I genuinely feel bad if we ruined his experience but also… come on… have you seen this movie!?

I haven’t seen The Sadness yet, and Martyrs is just a flavor of horror I don’t gravitate towards. Which is funny to say considering how much I loved The Coffee Table when I saw it.

I was really not enthusiastic about the Absolute line because it looked like the epitome of grimdark Batman storytelling and I’m pretty tired of that. But I got the first GN and thought it was a lot of fun.
