Definitely a horror film. I still try to avoid watching it, although i've seen bits.

Loved this film altho i wouldn't call it a horror film. Certainly it's an intense film tho.

Piece of advice from someone who researched bike thefts in university, use as many decent quality individual locks as you can carry, including locks that can be difficult to hold (hence difficult to saw thru). I used to carry 3, but i've seen 4 with others. More locks means more time needed to steal

So there is a distinct chance that despite the best efforts of most of the world, that we might actually fail to keep global warming under 2C, because of one or a handful of countries that refuse to acknowledge reality 😢😢 Certainly a bleak future unless policy radically changes in the US.

Altho i do wonder if temps were to drop because of global efforts without the US, that US arrogance would proclaim them right that climate change is a hoax!

Enlarging on a comment Dr Ghosh made about regions not being able to keep up, if all of world moves towards a clean energy makeup but the US doesn't, is there any scenario where the global balance would compensate for US ignorance @mliebreich.bsky.social please?

Few years ago one of my nephew's pet ducks had an eye issue. £100 for emergency appt! The duck got eye drops. Sister would have waited until daytime but nephew was distraught.

6 months into my iphone contract i wanted it to end and wished i'd never left samsung, so i survived 3yrs with a mobile i mostly disliked but now i'm starting to wonder if staying with iphone would have been better despite my greivances!

Sansung mobiles used to be so good, but this new one has been nothing but problems in the first 6wks of me having it, and i think its gone backwards with the latest update. I hate to say it but my (old) iphone is better than this 😬😬

China is a weird country. Tiktok allows people to be themselves around the world but many chinese people in china are 're-educated', effectively cleansed of anything that doesnt comform to the party line.

With the US getting its own version of tiktok I wonder which version I'll be using. Actually I'd prefer the Chinese version, because I suspect the US will be anti trans/woke and generally bigoted. Not that I use it much anyway.

New series of Crash Detectives starting on BBC Wales, 8th October, and on iplayer. Love these programs showing how the police gather evidence to prosecute people related to crashes etc.

Basing climate (economic) strategy on the living standards of the many that couldn't give a fuck about it but will complain bitterly when prices go up, is a sad state of affairs.

I'm at the lower end income wise and I reckon we should be going faster, even if it pains me financially! I'm also aware that there are many worse off than me, often by their own hand and many who just couldn't give a fuck (about the climate), but will complain when prices go up regardless......

Interesting but I they're naive to think that climate crisis deniers can't deny the existence of climate crisis because science proves ocean ph levels are rising. Science has proven the planet is heating up yet many (mostly in US) still deny the facts! Science and facts are irrelevant to some people

It’s difficult to be optimistic when a worldwide superpower is influencing away from the clear consensus of progress.

The one thing i struggle with is the US and their worldwide influence. As much as their renewables industry is moving consistently the current administration seems hellbent on stymiing progress in favour of oil and coal.

Very interesting and informative as usual. Sadly if you were a politician I reckon you'd get very few of your desires and those you'd get would be watered down. Sadly "hydrogen" will be ever present.

Altho if they'd called an immediate general election we'd, at best, get the same white again. I'd hate for tories to get in, probably worse. Lub dems and greens don't have enough to even get a coalition. Reform would get far far too many votes 😬😬 I reckon most who want an election would vote Reform
