There is no good time to go back to, friend. There is only forward. Obama drone-bombed hella civilians and presided over ICE putting kids in cages. He was a war criminal.

May they eat shit, and may it force-fed to them by the people they preyed on.

Landlords serve no purpose. They are parasites. They produce nothing, provide nothing, are worth nothing.

Most EVs, especially the sporty ones, have liquid-cooled motors.

A Tesla Model S trimotor (fuck Elon Musk but that’s the example at hand) in Psycho Mode or whatever it’s called will whip the shit out of literally any serial production car, both off the line and in the quarter-mile.

01.12.2025 16:38 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That for sure! The car as a transit mode is an inefficient unsustainable nightmare, and aggressive expansion of rail infrastructure is the biggest solution.

However.

The US is still far-flung and there will be people who need car transport, so we should make it less harmful and inefficient.

Subsidize, subsidize, and rail transit.

28.11.2025 17:14 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Your country isn’t big enough for the β€œdistance aspect” to be a real problem, and you have rail transit. Zero sympathy for this argument.

Can you name the stretches of road in the UK longer than 300 miles that are devoid of charging stationsβ€”or where they couldn’t easily be built?

28.11.2025 17:13 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The idea that we as a species shouldn’t be working to improve everything, or that EV proponents are against that, is so ridiculous that it’s hard to read it as anything but a myopic excuse forged in the middle of a panic attack about the possibility of change.

28.11.2025 17:12 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Non-sarcastic response: in the short term, is that better or worse than dooming THE ENTIRE SPECIES to water wars brought on by endless fossil-fuel emissions?

We can change the labor dynamic in the global south.
We cannot make ICEs stop emitting exhaust.

28.11.2025 17:12 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

dang, you’re right, we should also address the systems of inequality that ruin people’s lives

too bad EV proponents were saying we should fix and improve exactly one (1) problem and change nothing else at all

28.11.2025 17:12 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Sounds like EVs aren’t the solution to your failing infrastructure, a parallel problem which needs addressing no matter what you drive.

This is a systemic issue. Nothing is a magic bullet, but not changing anything dooms us all. This is the bill for decades of doing nothing. It is not optional.

28.11.2025 17:08 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Like, the entire list of things that are different on an EV compared to an ICE car is:
- the battery
- the charge controller, equivalent to an ICE ECU, which you already can’t fix
- the motors, which almost never fail and are easier to replace than rebuilding an ICE

This is a made-up problem.

28.11.2025 17:07 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You already own something you can’t repair yourself if your car was produced in the last decade, and the things you CAN repair on it are largely shared with an EV.

You can’t fix an ECU or a body control module, and I’m guessing you don’t rebuild your own engine much?

They want to use the tech that’s significantly slower and has worse throttle response? [they do, it’s insane]

28.11.2025 17:04 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

β€œIt damages the environment” is a completely different statement than β€œit damages the environment MORE,” which is the only thing that matters when we’re talking about /changing from an existing technology/, not /choosing one from scratch/.

Recycling is also a solvable problem.
Emissions are not.

28.11.2025 17:03 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It is cleaner, actually, even with fossil-fuel baseload power, and N O B O D Y is arguing for EVs and keeping coal.

Please stop talking until you’ve read up on the hard numbers; this is not a vibes-based subject, only the specifics matter.
