If that still holds true today, then the licensed public airwaves they use to reach the affiliate stations are vital.

I started looking up retransmission fees and found a paper/article from 2020. Along with the mountains of other information I had no clue about, it has this sentence:

For years after, whenever someone talked about Morrison & McKean’s Arkham Asylum, I thought they were referring to this book by Alan Grant and Dave Taylor.

I grew up in a Marvel household, but I have to assume we had the few odd issues of Batman around. What I’m certain of is the first Batman comic that I bought with my own money. It was Batman: Arkham Asylum: Tales of Madness: Cataclysm. It was on a spinner rack at Premiere Video.
