Man is clairvoyant*. Left is @extrapolationcm.bsky.social laying out the future issues with $NPK grenade contract on Tuesday. Right is NPK announcing a joint research effort with the army on Wednesday to address the exact issues.

* - that or MaryJo is sitting up there in WI hacking into our DMs.

Yes, but she trusted the guy - didn't trust the sanctity of the cold chain at the time. Regardless, the justified paranoia paid off.

ensure the cold chain was maintained and then just have this guy just do the actual act of administering the shot (she didn't want to "treat" her kids herself).

A couple of years back I found out that the doctor who had administered all my childhood vaccines was arrested and convicted for having injected kids w/ essentially a placebo instead of actual vaccines. Big scandal. Thankfully, my mom (a doctor herself) used to personally procure all my vaccines,

A bit anecdotal, but it's not just UP. It's my impression that India has been doing a commendable job w/ vaccine drives, preventable diseases, childhood mortality, etc. Basic education, improvements in sanitation, increasing women's empowerment, etc. go a long way.

Amusing anecdote (bit unrelated):

...bros are so insufferable. Even though I have a lot of admiration for the company, a large part of me just wants to see it zero out of spite. I have similar feelings towards Berkshire boomers who yolod into it at the right time out of pure luck (Berky never got as crazily valued as this though)

It's funny because I was an early (not super early, but certainly much much before it became a Fintwit/compounder bro name). Held it for quite some time, mostly exited, but still retain (a somewhat insignificant) block from way back. Would buy gobs again at the right price. But god the compounder...

"the definition of a consultant is someone who borrows your watch to tell you the time", well maybe, but if you had a watch and you were asking what the time was, that has to be at least partly on you.

In before anyone asks "why a net seller", "was selling a mistake", etc. These comments from a month ago still apply.

Will risk the ire of the market gods by taking a small victory* lap here, but this is now just a hair short of a $1B market cap (has been there before though).

(Fwiw, have been a net seller for the past few months).

I think it is OUTRAGEOUS that people are LEAPING to the conclusion that some our post prominent Americans are child rapists when it is EQUALLY PLAUSIBLE that they are simply indifferent to whether other people are child rapists so long as those other people can offer them access to power.

There’s the old stuff. But here I am mainly referencing the STD thing and the Epstein β€œmemo” to himself (which, in all fairness, may have fabrications in it). But it’s now been reported on by the FT (as opposed to just social media), and I think they have been good so far in only reporting on…

I did not expect Bill Gates to be in so deep in the Epstein mess. When he quit the Berkshire board and had the divorce, I dismissed speculation that it was Epstein related as pure tin foil hat conspiracy theory. Seems I was pretty wrong about that.

Would suggest using a different link/refernce: you mean (I assume) the double or nothing betting strategy (mentioned in the β€œHistory” section) not the type of stochastic process (which is what the Wikipedia article is about).

Aside: NYC offers such an interesting juxtaposition (never lived there, only visited). On the one hand it is clearly one of the greatest cities on the planet, on the other "goods behind lock and key" would just wreak havoc on my mental health and drive me out quicker than any tax.

...think Amazon works even as a one stop shop anymore unless you know *exactly* what you want (and from whom - in which case going direct to the source usually works): place is flooded with junk, the sponsored results and review system has been totally gamed and inventory mixing often means you...

...and it's a real winning combo. Ofc, this involves actually making grocery trips and visiting multiple stores, which depending on your personality/city/schedule might not be tolerable.

Outside of books Amazon just feels like a flea market w/ cheap (derogatory) crap mostly. In fact, I dont...
