Older Black voters are one of the few demos left who are actual Dem partisans. So you often see insurgent campaigns facing this issue as "we don't know them," which is very fair! Once you get the ballot line you are inside the tent and folks are usually a lot more receptive. AOC had this too

Having the D ballot line helps a lot with this.

I support Hakeem and Schumer immolating themselves on AOC 2.0. Hakeem in particular has long lacked juice and ball knowledge. We've been able to pick off his state house picks for years now.
