The Government Just Cut 100% of Funding for Glioblastoma โ€” Glioblastoma Research Organization Last week, the Department of Defense released its annual update on the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP)โ€”a powerful but often overlooked funding source for cancer research, in...

Glioblastoma doesnโ€™t get enough federal funding as it is, and now it will get none. My husband is a 22 month survivor who is still living due to a clinical trial. This is yet another gut punch.

This week House GOP: letโ€™s adopt Trumpโ€™s budget cuts of 880 billion Medicaid dollars.

I subsist on Social Security Disability/Medicare/Medicaid/SNAP. Medicaid pays the majority of my medications. Due to my disabilities & chronic illnesses I rely on 38 different medications annually. 1 of my medications for Lupus has slowed the progression of the disease.

Without access I would die.๐Ÿ˜”

Trump says RFK Jr. will investigate the discredited link between vaccines and autism: โ€˜Somebody has to find outโ€™ Researchers attribute a rise in autism diagnoses to increased screening and changing definitions of the condition. Hundreds of studies have found childhood vaccines to be safe.

This is exhausting and a waste of time and money. The vaccine/autism connection has been tested & found lacking, whether for MMR, thimerosal, aluminum, "too many too soon" & more. This just further stigmatizes autism & casts doubt on vaccines (which is the point).

If youโ€™d told me on Jan 6th 2021 that the man responsible for that horrific attack would end up returning to the office he tried to steal that day, and that heโ€™d do so after calling the attackers โ€œheroesโ€ & โ€œhostagesโ€ he was going to pardon, Iโ€™d have thought you were out of your damn mind.

And yetโ€ฆ

New here! We're an innovative patient-led movement designed to move glioblastoma from terminal to treatable, powered by patients. The first non-profit created by, with, and for people living with this aggressive brain cancer. We believe in the power of patients and data.

No one should EVER have to worry about their healthcare being taken away from them simply because they became ill. This is my mantra for many years.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’œ

Before I was diagnosed the first time with cancer, I was a different person. I took life seriously but for granted. When I heard the words "you have cancer..." something in me changed. Even when I was cancer free, I wasn't the same person. I realized how much I WANT to live & I want to HELP others.๐Ÿ™

One of the things I still donโ€™t understand is how these tech bros can be pro-technology and anti science.

We have had those hard conversations as well. My husband has been working to build his retirement because he feels that is what he could leave for myself and my sons. And being terminally ill he does not qualify for additional life insurance. If divorced, then it can get messy. Itโ€™s a catch 22.

25.11.2024 01:14 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I completely understand. If my husband and I got divorced he would be eligible for healthcare. Weโ€™ve been told by peopleโ€ฆ you could always get a divorce. After 24+ years of marriage neither of us would take that step. System is broken.

Freddy Mercury died of AIDS 33 years ago today. With modern medical technology, he likely would have lived. Never forget how much progress against major infectious disease has been made in a short time. We are at risk now of rolling back much of that progress.

The 24 mo. wait is a problem for those whose life expectancy is less than 24 months. When you worked your entire life and paid your fair share, and then told you make too much $ for Medicaid. Made to work through treatments and illness. I appreciate your posts/forum to share my thoughts today!

2/2 Cobra insurance would be over $2000 per month. I've been considering looking for a different job that includes benefits but most certainly a pay cut. We are concerned that if we did switch insurance, that preexisting conditions (and a very expensive one like brain cancer) would not be covered.

1/2 Husband has glioblastoma, worst type of brain cancer. He still works FT and holds the family health insurance. This has been difficult. I am a contract worker, offered no benefits. Can't afford for him to quit working. Medicare will not take effect until 2 years after SSDI starts.
