Glioblastoma doesnโt get enough federal funding as it is, and now it will get none. My husband is a 22 month survivor who is still living due to a clinical trial. This is yet another gut punch.

Last week Trump: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid wont be touched.
This week House GOP: letโs adopt Trumpโs budget cuts of 880 billion Medicaid dollars.

I subsist on Social Security Disability/Medicare/Medicaid/SNAP. Medicaid pays the majority of my medications. Due to my disabilities & chronic illnesses I rely on 38 different medications annually. 1 of my medications for Lupus has slowed the progression of the disease.
Without access I would die.๐

17.12.2024 03:27 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is exhausting and a waste of time and money. The vaccine/autism connection has been tested & found lacking, whether for MMR, thimerosal, aluminum, "too many too soon" & more. This just further stigmatizes autism & casts doubt on vaccines (which is the point).

25.11.2024 01:34 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We have had those hard conversations as well. My husband has been working to build his retirement because he feels that is what he could leave for myself and my sons. And being terminally ill he does not qualify for additional life insurance. If divorced, then it can get messy. Itโs a catch 22.
25.11.2024 01:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I completely understand. If my husband and I got divorced he would be eligible for healthcare. Weโve been told by peopleโฆ you could always get a divorce. After 24+ years of marriage neither of us would take that step. System is broken.

Never forget how much progress against major infectious disease has been made in a short time. We are at risk now of rolling back much of that progress.
Weโre not going back.

24.11.2024 19:50 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 02/2 Cobra insurance would be over $2000 per month. I've been considering looking for a different job that includes benefits but most certainly a pay cut. We are concerned that if we did switch insurance, that preexisting conditions (and a very expensive one like brain cancer) would not be covered.
24.11.2024 19:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 01/2 Husband has glioblastoma, worst type of brain cancer. He still works FT and holds the family health insurance. This has been difficult. I am a contract worker, offered no benefits. Can't afford for him to quit working. Medicare will not take effect until 2 years after SSDI starts.
